Calibration
means comparison of a test equipment readings
with a more accurate reference equipment
readings by measuring and determining deviations
under controlled environmental conditions like
temperature, humidity, vibration etc.
Measurement and calibration is a vital parameter
of industrial activities. Measurements during
production will be more trustable when done with
a calibrated test equipment. Periodical
calibration of the test equipments is therefore
so important.
Reliability of measurements is one of the
requirements of ISO 9001 Quality system standard.
In other words ISO 9001 standard brings
calibration requirement. However all companies
independent from ISO 9001 certification benefit
from calibration thus eliminating nonconform
product risk by reliable measurements.
Calibration has a cost but this cost is
negligible when compared with the consequences
of non conform product.
A calibration laboratory should be traceable to
national and/or international standards and
laboratory preferrably should own accreditation
certificate according to ISO 17025 standard to
provide customer confidence.
EMIS is accredited by TURKAK and provides
traceability to national metrology institute UME
or to other well known international metrology
institutes. EMIS meets its customer needs by its
well developed laboratories and competent
technical staff.
